The Hutchens/Myers Duo is a contemporary music ensemble composed of saxophonist, Andrew Hutchens and percussionist, Daniel Myers. Originally formed in 2016 while at Western Carolina University, the duo continues push the boundaries for collegiate saxophone and percussion duos through frequent outreach, commissioning, performance, and collaboration with new artists. Devoted to increasing the repertoire of this duo, the Hutchens/Myers duo has been active by commissioning, arranging, and premiering new works by composers such as Michael Laurello, Jeff Weston, Andy Akiho, Terrell Cordice, Stephen Karukas. The Hutchens/Myers Duo has been involved in masterclasses by artists such as the Assembly Quartet and the Ogni Suono Duo. Currently both Daniel and Andrew are pursuing graduate degrees in the Carolinas. Daniel is pursuing his Masters in percussion performance from Appalachian State University and Andrew is pursuing his DMA in saxophone performance from the University of South Carolina.
